We should have done this a long time ago but never got around to it
We have been here on wp for the last 4 yrs , 2yrs to go then probably moving on to another provence.
We have 2 children 1 british born the other Canadian so really need to get this done.
A couple of questions as we have never had a will.
Who do we need to see to get this done?
Can we appoint non resident trustees?
Would our children be taken into care until legal guardian arrives?
Thanks for the help

Talk to a notaire. They do wills and PoA. They can be done in English, BTW. Ours were.

Do you mean executors? If so, the answer is yes. My brother in the UK is one of our executors.

Don't understand the question.

Written from an Australian point of view but some issues may be applicable to Quebec.

Of course, you're in a different situation where one child is a Canadian citizen and the other is neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident.
Do you already have a will from your former country of residence?
