Mail-in rebates?

Mail in rebates are more trouble than they are worth. My dad got a printer 6 months ago and did the required "send this, attach that, follow this instruction" and then a cheque arrived in US dollars which is a pain. He got his money back through a Canadian bank but it was a lot of bother.
If you are happy with the non-rebate price, then it's worth buying the product I guess.

I don't think I've seen (m)any of these in Britain, bit confused as to the point.

All the rebates I have gotten on stuff bought in Canada always came in Can$, only items I bought in the US come back in US$.
