Made an offer to rent a condo!

Hello All,

Just made an offer to rent a condo in montreal, subject to stuff being included etc. I havnt rented a place through an estate agent/realtor before (always from private landlords til now), what are likely to be the next steps (lease first then deposit etc)?

Did you give a holding deposit and complete a rental application?

As a condo owner I would like to believe that the agreement to lease would be with the owner not the real estate company.
The main drawback with renting a condo is that at the end of the lease the owner may decide to sell and would possibly only offer you month to month rental.

The realtor is drawing up an offer for me to sign, hopefully it moves quick, but it seems I have competition for me to sign (boo! down with them)

Check it over carefully, most rentals in Quebec are for a year , July to July.
