We will be relocating to Calgary and are looking for a nanny/housekeeper. I want some one to manage the household and help out with our 3 kids. This will be a live in position. Can anyone give experiences or advice? What is better going through an agency or advertising locally? Thanks for your help!!

There are lots of agencies and lots of on-line places (eg nannies 4 hire, great au pair etc) , where you sign up for a fee and get contacts for would-be people.
I never found one, but was only offering part-time live out, and I wanted a driver, plus my son has severe allergies and I think that scared some off. Plus things have cooled off a lot since then. If you are prepared to sponser some-one from overseas (needs live in full-time), then you will definately get someone but may have to wait.
Good luck

Hi Therese,
At the moment I work as a rodeo-clown - but come on, how hard can it be to wrangle a few kids eh!
I used to keep my double-wide real nice and I can microwave a mean burrito.
When would you like me to move in?

That would be some commute for you, have you really done your research?
