I need to send court papers to my ex in Ontario. He has his own construction company. He has a website and a FB page although only lists a phone number and the town where he’s located and actually email address. I have tried yellow/white pages, companies house equivalent, the post office and the police. Can I just email court documents or have the courts call him? Tia

My ex began proceedings with Supreme Court in Barrie ontario using my old address. Therefore never received court date etc. I am now fighting to set aside an order made in Canada which the UK have supported.

His address for service will be stated on any document he filed with the Court. You will have to check the rules for service in Ontario. I have just checked the family law rules in Ontatio on my phone and section 6 of it deals with service.

If he has a lawyer, sevice via fax to his lawyer's office will likely be valid.

Could always do some 'reconaissance' ... try to be a prospective customer to get the address, or have a friend do it.
