Looking at flights to Halifax NS
#1
I have been researching flights to Halifax for October this year. I have been looking at using Air Canada.
Flying out from Heathrow on our dates will be fine but coming back to the UK all of the flights have a 'stopover'.
Is this the usual?
We will have a child with us so a direct flight would be better!
Thanks for your help!

AC860 is the daily flight from Halifax to UK. If it is full or if there is a cheaper routing you'll be given options via Ottawa or Toronto as alternatives. Of course these involve flying for hours in the wrong direction so should be avoided.
Try living in St John's, NL. Flying 1.5hrs to Halifax is the best of worst choices of 'flying in the wrong direction before you start travelling in the right direction'!

Thanks Luckyone
Had a look at the site - theres one direct flight leaving Halifax at 0.45 but after that all of the other flights are 10, 11 or 12 hrs long 'via' Torornto, Ottawa or Montreal.
Maybe we should do the 0.45 one!

There is only one direct flight a day and at that time of year it seems to be 0:45am. At least the kids will sleep well!

Canadian Affair will probably be cheaper than Air Canada at that time of year I would think

Thanks for your reply NSpaul.
We looked in to CA and were impressed with their prices.
We have chosen to fly out on October 20th, the same day as CA finish for the season!! We dont do things by halves in this family

I know what you mean about stopover flights. I am heading back to Aberdeen in 2 weeks time for a 9 day trip and managed to get direct flights from Halifax to Heathrow, then onwards to Aberdeen.
I could not stand the thought of heading from Halifax to TO, only to fly back over NS enroute to London
Did I say I was heading back 'home' in 2 weeks time
OMG so I am
