I hated walking to school in England - I was always frozen. There are only a few days each year in Calgary when I feel that way. We walk to school until the temperature starts to be painful. Around minus 25 we would start to drive. Our friends play guess the temperature on the days we drive - if its not that cold and we are driving they know one child must be too ill for school and is in the back of the van waiting to go home again.
It will not feel as cold as you might expect. I would rather have a sunny day in Calgary with a temperature of minus twenty over a day in England when it is around +4!
