I can think of few places that offer as much in terms of scenery, climate, recreation and cost of living. I think west coast of VI is a stunning place to visit, and would be my second choice, but the climate would get me down after a while.

Nestled amongst trees on the waterfront, miles from anywhere would do me.

Other than that, I do quite like the Waterton area, not sure if I could cope with all the storms and winds around there though. Also really like the idea of Northern Alberta/Yukon (for the summer anyhoo.).

It's a toss up between Tofino for reasons already stated by others or Jasper, beautiful town not far from Mount Robson and Kinney Lake and the Fraser river, (for rafting!).

My OH has instructions to scatter my ashes at Kinney Lake if I go before him! Can't think of a better resting place. And as it's so out of the way everyone has a good excuse not to visit:lol:

I never could get the draw to kamloops, ... i know the weather is good, very seasonal and all that, but the towns not much to brag about.

I know what you mean , but its a peaceful laid back town we are drawn too, had busy city life. Enough of hustle n bustle time to relax and Kamloops will help us along with that nicely.

Mind you BC has that many places it is hard to choose. I havent visited any other provinces so cant quote on them. Although ive read enough great things about them in this forum.

Our plan is to visit as many places as we can when (if) we get PR

Well if money was no object then I'd opt for something on one of the lakes up at Whistler, or one of the $10m+ homes with private dock in West Van...

If only....

West van is crazy. Drove past something that resembled a falling down shed the other day. It was for-sale so I checked on MLS - $3.2M, for a small fixer upper!!!

I sure hope so - have a realtor coming over to value our house in West Van today. Sadly it'll be nowhere near that, and no doubt less then what I paid a few years ago. Probably going to rent it out instead....

Screw proximity to employment, real estate prices or any of those other tedious practicalities. Where in Canada would we all be living right now if we could?

I realize Edmonton will be at the top of most people's list , but are there any other lesser known little Edens out there that we should all be told about.

Right here where we live, a walk to Willows Beach, Oak Bay, Victoria BC. Beautiful beach with great scenery and even a fish and chip shop (although they close about 6pm!)

Even if my OH gets posted to Ottawa or Halifax with the Navy I think we will stay here, enough moving for me, this is home!
