Might not have the real large body of water, but will have everything else.

Yes you are right, rent is not much more expensive here than elsewhere in canada and is a damn sight cheaper than manchester, especially when you factor in the fact that most bills are included and no council taxes to pay. You certainly can find something for around 900 - 1000.

Having said that, I would be aiming a fair bit higher than a min wage to live in Vancouver.
