Yor have to make the occasional trip to Edmonton/Calgary from Red Deer, I'm pretty sure GP is worse. I know my friend is less than impressed that she is moving back there, because the shopping is pants. She grew up there and has family there and its where her soon to be husband comes from too and the only reason they are moving back is because he has a new job.
) would fit my needs quite wellThanks for the help

While I cant say its cheap (its not) that seems to be the going rate in the locations Im looking at, certainly any houses Ive looked at were around that sort of money
It may be hard for you to gauge but are wages there higher than the norm? (like Fort McMoney for example?)

I have heard that wages are in Fort Mac are very good, you could always call around to some companies and ask them what their starting wages are...Ive also heard some companies offer relocation imbursements.

I wouldnt know a lot about the wages....when I was in college, half of our class were workers from Fort Mac and they were not only paid their regular wages to take classes, they were given company credit card and rental vehicles. I dont know if this is a normal occurance but it was pretty freekin awesome.

Once I`m there I`ll have a look at the more lucrative areas to see what my options are but, like you say, it seems while there is good money to be made around Fort Mac (for example) the premium that you receive is eaten up by extortionate living costs (certainly an housing that I looked at was daft cash)
Fort Mac is not the type of place I`d want to be long term but I would go there for a while to build up some cash (if the numbers added up)
