Don't know the place, just wondered if you actually had a reason to want to live there. But it appears it maybe a grass greener thought pattern.
How would the character and more jobs help your long term life plans.
Say you land a job in Nelson paying quite nice what next? You start a new hobby? you begin to live ?
Does it meet other members in your family plans of good things to do?

The movie Roxanne with Steve Martin was filmed in Nelson; see link or see the movie.
From what I've read it is a very intimate, cozy play where the citizens enjoy a relaxing life style. A smell of cannabis should be in air often.

Check out this site also, if you haven't already

I thought it was over-hyped, wasn't impressed. Weather didn't help, 9c and torrential rain in June... but that was just a short visit, no idea about living there.

Stayed there a couple of nights to do the surrounding area, walking, canoeing that sort of thing. Got friendly with the receptionist who must have been in her mid 40's and she had never left Nelson
cannt imagine living in one place all your life, especially not Nelson. Not bad around there though if you like the outdoor life.

We stayed at a beautiful YHA in Nelson - the Dancing Bear if you're interested! Anyway, we've had friends stay there during the winter to go heli-boarding/skiing.
Was nice enough and bigger than where we're hoping to move to!

Well I already live in a quite part of BC (Grand Forks) and am looking for something with more character and work opportunities....without going to the city....
My wife thinks its a good idea.....she has her own business which will still prosper even with a move.....I jus need to find something to do myself.....not much for a former commerical insurance broker in these parts....haha

I wasn't very impressed with the place either..... restaurant service was very poor. Nelson marches to the beat of no drummer... it's just a lazy place. Unique perhaps, but lazy. The place also made me wonder if businesses gave their employees an extra 1/2 hr for lunch so they could go home and water their marijuana plants.... then again they pretty much need that provision anywhere in BC.

We just returned from a 7 weeks camping trip touring B.C We drove out of our way to visit Nelson as someone - can't remember who- told us it was great. We were thoroughly disappointed. I my husbands words "the place is pointless and the people have their heads up their A***s". Some out of the way places that we did like are Osoyoos, Stewart and Quesnel.

My sister in law lives in Nelson! .... too far away "out in the sticks" for me. I would like to be a bit further away from all the "town noise" .. but not as disconnected as Nelson. It all depends on what you want I guess?
