Default A little bit of help required......

OK so my family (me the wife & two children) are moving to Calgary soon.
I have got a job as a truck driver. I have received the contract of employment & the LMO. The employer have asked for me to apply for work permit at 'point of entry' presumably because it will save time & make it quicker for us to actually get over there.
Also they will send me over a 'port of entry' letter to hand over once we arrive.
My question is then
What will i need to take with me with regards to proofs & forms to assure a smooth entry. Is there a checklist of things that we need to take on the day of arrival. Do we all need medicals & police checks etc.

Any help will be most welcoming.

If you check the Wiki, there is info in there on applying at POE and what you need to take.

Actually, Temporary Workers do not need a B4 at all. This is for PR landing, I believe but either way Temporary Workers applying for TWP at POE do not need it.

If you have a TWP you can ship your personal effects and furniture without you needing to fill in anything and you will not have to pay any duty, so long as the items are yours, are not new and you agree to take them all home when you leave Canada and not sell any of them.

If you choose to ship all your stuff, the removals company packing list is all that is required along with an insurance valuation to give some idea of the value for Customs but as I say there is no duty to pay so it is only a formality.

We did this with my husband arriving at POE with his LMO and his job offer letter.
He got his TWP at POE last August arriving at Calgary and then travelling on to Vancouver no problem and then later on this year we shipped our goods and again, no problems at all. We just went to the Customs house in Vancouver, signed the receipt documents and they delivered the container the next day.
