That bit really surprised me, I love snow, but when it is there EVERYDAY, it gets kind of boring! Even the kids dont want to make anymore snowmen! Just goes to show how fickle we are!:o

Well, we have sun almost every day here -- but then again we also have snow -- I would gladly keep the sun but would be happy to get rid of the snow. As someone says - its boring. The only colours you see here from some time in November usually until probably the end of March are black and white -- trees and snow! I wouldn't mind it being cold - I just hate the snow. It gets all packed down and its like a lumpy bumpy skating rink out there so its pretty treacherous to try and walk on. I haven't taken my dogs for a walk for months and months. Oh I do go out in the back yard and plunge through the snow a bit but its not like taking a real walk.

A friend once described Canada as an America run by Germans: efficient, modern and soulless. (not that I subscribe to that view but it does have some merits).

 i havent found many instances of efficiency, or modernity in these parts

I thought it was quaint and cute before I lived here, now its just frustrating.

Yup - I agree.

When I phone home I tend to preface the conversation with the words: "...and speaking to you from the past....."

What I like about the Ustinov insult about Toronto "New York run by the Swiss" is that it's so accurate that Torontonians take it as a compliment.

but, if, as you say, you've spent "a lot of time in Waterloo, Ontario", wouldn't you already know what life must be like over here for a transexual?
