I don't think they had drive-thrus when I left. Just came back from St. Jacobs market again.....I love that place! Next time I need to go into the actual town itself. Tomorrow I think we are planning to go to the corn maze...though not quite sure where it is at this point! Cathie |

We love Elmira, and we were there for the maple syrup festival earlier this year. I have never had so many pancakes in my life, flippin' good they were, if you pardon the pun :D

Have you taken the horse carriage ride yet? How is all that construction work on HWY7, still going on is it? I've made note of all your comments on the horse-drawn ride in winter. Definitely something I'll talk my sister and her kids into doing with me. Not sure what construction work you are talking about on Highway 7 but then I think we take all the back routes to get to St. Jacobs. Oh, must mention that Picard's Corner is not to be missed either! |

http://www.picardpeanuts.com/html/our_locations.htm http://www.picardpeanuts.com/html/history.htm I racked my brain and had no memory - but when my parents phoned I asked and my mom said it's on the other side of St. Jacob's going towards Elmira. We use to go there as kids with my parents (and they still do) to get peanuts in shells for the squirrels, red squirrels, chipmunks and bluejays. Apparently the owner use to give us kids bags that we could fill with "stuff"!!! Well, I guess my little brain can only hold so many memories of the area - the more important ones like food, liquor and of course men!!!! |
