Lethbridge Alberta, anyone been there?

Going to on a holiday/fact finding mission on the 24th of this month. I have a company that has applied for a LMO for me in the Lethbridge area. Its seems OK via the internet but we have to see it for ourselves and would value the comments of people that have been/live there also

We are flying into Vancouver (visiting relatives) initially and then driving through the Rockies to Lethbridge for our second week.............cant wait

PS flying home to Glasgow from Calgary

Hi there Almacca,

We're also going over on the 24th of this month, flying from London to Calgary. We're going down to look at Lethbridge mainly cos of the high cost of housing in Calgary, then over into the Rockies for a bit of fun. Planning to have a llok at some of the towns on the fringes of Calgary too.

On the Lethbridge website it says its the sunniest and warmest place in Canada and that the winds are warm :) (ish)

Good luck on your trip.

My colleagues know all about that kind of wind.... I had a curry last night.

Seriously though, I have heard that its quite windy in the Lethbridge area, would that be the Chinook winds that people refer to?

The chinooks are warm but generally i havent found that them 'breezy'. I would say the winds in Lethbridge are 'normal' winds but I'm often wrong ;)

Hi

Spent plenty of time in Lethbridge, great place to bring up a family, quite, plenty of parks but a slow pace of life and very few pubs.

Very warm in the summer, very very very windy, 90k - 100k winds not uncommon.

It has a race track, 3 golf course's and a casino.

Hope this helps

thanks for that mate - we'll definitely check it out. On MLS house prices look a lot less than Calgary.

Hello all, when you come back from Lethbridge in the next couple of weeks could you post your experience of the town? It will be really useful for us as we are going out to Alberta on the 26/6. thanks in advance and hope you all had a good trip

Hi

How big is the city? I have read it is about 70k poeple. What can you say about job opportunities? What about shopping centers, discos, criminal rate, pricing on food, gas, cars, rent?

House pricing is almost half less than in Calgary.

What is the most popular newspaper with classifields?

If you can say everything you know about that place. We (I and my wife) are considering Calgary and Lethebridge to start our new life in Canada. I prefer some warmer place than Calgary but we want to be in Alberta.

Thanks for any info
Mario
