Let out or sell property in UK
Hi. I’ll be inheriting my dad’s property that’s in Cornwall, but I reside in Canada.
Is there a good market for air b n b in Cornwall and is it worth it? Or should I just sell it? If I sell it, what would be the tax consequences to me here?

Re: Let out or sell property in UK
Air b n b's are not popular with the many locals and with some councils (they leave areas desolate in the winter and reduce amount of housing available to locals).
So you need to research your area carefully; and, of course, you'll need an agent to look after it for you. Short term lettings will cost more to maintain (frequent cleaning etc) than long term rentals.
Personally, if I lived in Canada, I'd sell it unless I wanted to live in it myself.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad.
Depends on where it is. It could be very lucrative, or end up costing you a fortune - location will be everything. And it will also depend on the type of property. I run AirBnB's and holiday lets, in Cornwall and elsewhere in the UK, if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
And don't forget to look at UK taxes if you do keep it and sell it later on. Capital gains tax will kick in then too.
