we have finally managed to book our flights and will land in calgary on the 25th May. After taking advice from the forum and weighing it up with my future employer's needs we have decided to go the POE route. It was the mutt that took the longest to get on the plane, we were given the run around by the airlines and since we live just south of Newcastle upon Tyne wanted to fly from Manchester as it's only a 3 hour drive to the airport. One of the phone numbers we were given was from Transfur (for the mutt), after we contacted them things just flowed. The housing market does not look too good at the moment but there is no hurry to sell the house as we are staying with inlaws over there. We will give it a few months and if everything works out ok, I'm sure it will, we will come back clear the house and look for our own home. Since the date is now set I feel more comfortable about it.

Good luck!
It's snowing somewhat in Calgary today ...... "flurries" they said! .... I'd like to know the definition of flurries and how they differ from "Snowstorm/white-out/Blizzard conditions" !!!!

Well as a coincidence it is our wedding anniversary that day, married 34 years and still going (I must be doing something right). Seems like starting a new life again.
