At last...
Finally got the immigration forms finished last night, photocopied them at work this morning (just to be safe) and have just got back from the post office where I posted them International recorded delivery for the grand sum of £11.75. 
Ouch.
Couldn't believe what a load of hassle it was! It all seemed fairly straightforward but to get all the documentation together, fill in forms, search for proof of relationship (Family Class), assemble proof of relationship, check the forms, recheck the forms, get them all in order, recheck the forms again, make sure they'll be easy for the Immigration Office to work through then post them has taken about two months!! OK - so the bulk of that was waiting for the police check to come back, but even the rest of the stuff took an eternity to sort out and get right.
Relieved it's over now. Phew!!
So now the waiting game begins properly...
