Default Landed in Toronto

Just thought I would share our landing experience with you.

Landed 2.45pm ish on Thu, went straight through to customs where we said we were landing he marked our card and sent us to immigration, airport was empty! First in the queue got seen straight away, paperwork done, asked to see proof of funds, then told to see people on the way out to collect some information to help us, then on to see the chap about the goods to follow list. Again no queues, very straight forward and went to get our luggage, we were so fast we even beat some people that were still coming out from customs! Got bags then the hardest part and the part that took the longest getting our prebooked car!! What a kerfuffle! Got car and were off. Yippeee 9 days holiday then back to uk to sell house and hopefully return june/july next year, also did SIN cards today and no trouble there!.

Thank you - we leave this afternoon for Toronto too to do exactly the same, it's reassuring that it all seemed straight forward. It's still a little scary despite all the reassurance!

We'll be doing the same in about 50 days! Thank you for the post, it's good to see that it's no problem.

Where does passport control fall in all of this?

Ta!

Passport control was first and we said we were landing, he put pink lines all over our card and sent us to immigration in the room behind him. There were no queues at all, i reckon the whole process took less than 30 mins start to finish, i had visions of our luggage going round on its own on the carousel but when we get there we were one of the first to get theirs!!

Good luck to everyone who is going through the landing process i was shaking like a leaf but no need we sailed through thank goodness!!

Hi Flyingscottie,

Just seen your reply about Landing and noticed your dates for application. Our application went in August 2008, but through a lawyer in Toronto who helped our daughter. Just wondered if you are being sponsored as we haven't heard anything since application went in!

Sorry, we applied for PR via my husbands job skills. Is your daughter sponsoring you?

I would have thought you would have heard something by now! What does your lawyer say?
