Well, it's official, OH is now a permanent resident of canada!
it took less than an hour from the plane touching down at halifax airport to get through passport control, onto immigration (waiting only because of the 3 people ahead of us in the queue), collect luggage and through border services (again a bit of queue to get through) with all bits of paper stamped and PR card applied for!
the border services guy thanked us for being so organised and having the goods-to-follow form filled out and a printed list of the goods, however he said we didn't need the goods accompanying form and didn't bother stamping it.
so all that worrying that the form-filling wasn't absolutely correct or that we had the wrong bits of paper or had forgotten something can now be put firmly behind us and we can enjoy our recce to Nova Scotia!
Found a blues bar last night and spent a couple of hours drinking Keith's Red Amber and listening to live blues before finally collapsing into bed. Shame it's foggy today (so far) but we're going to take a walk round halifax and see what's on!
Thanks to everyone for the advice and hints & tips given over the last year or so couldn't have been so organised with out you!

I can't hate a fellow Keith's lover really. I can be insanely jealous though

They told us that also when we went through Halifax that we didn't need goods to follow list stamping but when we had contact with shipping company they wanted it stamping. If it happens to you contact them as all we had to do was submit letter explaining that they wouldn't stamp it saying it wasn't needed. Received goods 2 weeks later

Welcome to Nova Scotia
Have a fabulous Canada Day too when it arrives. There will be lots going on in and around Halifax.
