Landing was easy peasy......we were preparing ourselves to be sat in a small room, being grilled about everything including the date and time of our last bowel movement.....But we arrived at Immigration to.......
"welcome to canada" a million times, gave us a welcome pack with a free calender.....makes it feel worth spending a couple of grand eh!!
Then obviously a few questions where you planning on living etc, but didn't ask for our goods list, proof of funds all of which caused many hours of stress but hey ho......that was it, took about 40 minutes max including waiting in the line!!

Re: Landed
Many congratulations on a happy landing.....it is all a bit underwhelming isn't it? I kind of hoped for a marching band, but it was all very ordinary - have a great stay and I hope it all goes as smoothly as this bit has. Good luck!

Depending where you are making your landing the Feds are in a bit of recession so CBSA have cut back on the marching bands, balloons, free Tim Hortons and Canada pins. You will probably get a Hello/Bonjour and possibly a Welcome to Canada by the ever so cheerful BSO processing you or if you listen closely perhaps a muttered "More ****ing Brits deserting the Motherland"

It's funny - when we first arrived we were like FBI agents - ready to pull out our PR cards like a concealed weapon to wave in the face of anyone who was vaguely interested. Now they just sit in the safe along with various bits and bobs.
It all seemed important at the time. It's surprising how quickly we found we didn't even think about it any more. For the first month or so we must have looked like complete newbies; people were always asking us where we are from and how long we have been here. Now - Nothing!!!
Congratulations though! enjoy the novelty while it lasts!!!
