Shopping is fine unless you're a real fussy tw@t. Everything you'd ordinarily need is at hand, apart from high end designer clothing. Nothing wrong in having to go to Van City for a shopping weekend, it makes a nice change once in a while to actually see non-white people and "funny" accents, heck, this is the big country, it's how it is. It's not like the UK and why would it be ???
I'll PM you later regarding the work front. There's good and bad aspects to working life here. R. Nothing fussy about our needs for shopping :D Bloody better not be like the UK anyway. Dan |

Not much like Bluewater or whatever it's called. Populated by suburban mall rats armed with daddy's credit card, but not armies of chavs. Imagine elevator music, Starbucks, leather sofa's to relax in. Imagine being able to park up and walk straight in, with little hassle.
Xmas excepted, of course. R. Where did you live in the UK? Dan |

Xmas excepted, of course. R. Nothing wrong with Kelowna whereas the only good thing about Kamalops is that it has a good road you can drive in one end and out the other as quickly as possible! |

Re: KELOWNA, KAMLOOPS
It's nice to see so many people are heading to the kamloops region of Bc, i am hoping to be in kamloops in dec ish '09. I have visited kamloops a number of times though and it's ok, my other half, who has lived there for ages, says kelowna was originally built as a retirement settlement, and kamloops has a younger feel having visited both. And that Kamloops has more millionaires that Van.
Kamloops has enough day to day shops for anyone, and who would object to a weekend away in the city!?!? |
Re: KELOWNA, KAMLOOPS
The shopping is absolutely fine in Kelowna - and I am a self certified expert after living in Dubai for the last 13 years which is ALL about Shopping and Mall mania :). Nice choice of places to buy your winter gear, summer stuff and everything in between. No high end designers in town, but one doesn't seem to get many opportunities to wear ones Jimmy Choos or Gucci here, which is IMO a slight negative about the place ;)

My preferred choice would be Kelowna from what i have seen on Wikipedia Kamloops is full until 2012, sorry about that. ;) |
Re: KELOWNA, KAMLOOPS
We did visit both areas 2 weeks ago, and I must say we did prefer Kamloops over Kelowna, Kelowna just to busy to much people living to close and then that bridge, try crossing this during rush hours. Kamloops is more spacious to our opinion. Both towns have all ya need for everyday living.
we will make the final move to Kamloops , when our house will be sold Pffffffff |

Kamloops is full until 2012, sorry about that. ;) What do you mean that it is full???? Is there much of a business centre there, as i work in Account Management and Sales. What do you think the average wages would be in Kamloops. Kind regards Dan |
