Hiya,
So we've been in Ottawa for 3.5 weeks now and about to move to a wee condo in Kanata at the end of Dec.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips about local things to do with wee ones - my daughter is 22 months old.
Back home she loved soft-play for being able to clamber around, jump in ball pits, climb on bouncy castles etc - is there such a thing here?
Hoping to get her started on swimming lessons soon, we're quite close by on Katimavik/Castlefrank so that's promising.
Not having a car means we're a little limited but not adverse to bus-rides
And in a couple of months will need to place her in daycare when hubbie gets his PR and can work as well - The Playspace looks quite good so am looking forward to checking it out. Anyone have any recommends?
Thanks

I am on a stupid tablet, so I can't post links, but I just googled Kanata Activities for kids, and got loads of info. It looks as though there is lots going on...I hope that there is. I do find in Canada, well this bit anyway, there are all sorts of things going on, but there isn't any centralised information so you happen on events if you're lucky.

Hence me trying to cover all the bases!Good tip on the non-centralisation of info, think I'm going to try and find a meet-up or big playgroup as well.
Thanks MillieF

Hiya - yep done that too - lots for kids, can't find much for toddlers. Plus its one thing to find things online that say "hey this is great come and spend $ here", and another for a recommend from a local

AM....I can assure you that there is indeed loads to do for kids in Kanata, and parents alike. The area just keeps growing, and with all the new subdivisions, there are a lot of young parents, shopping outlets, movies, schools, and private play centers that do drop ins
There is also Nepean within a short drive, and there is loads to do there also. Barrhaven aka BBQ haven is a point in case
You can't go wrong with this area.

Took me a while to work out how to do it reliably on android. Still a bit of a mystery on my windows phone.

Not much you can do with a 22 month old, most Canadians leave their kids in cars on mall parking lots, or at the back of their homes. Some go one further and leave them in overcrowded day care facilities, but if you want the child to reach his/her third birthday sitting around in a Timmies or a Makee Deez is always a good way to while away the time. :@)
