See post #7 by Paul Archer (Airseir) in this thread:
If that doesn't give you enough reading to keep you out of mischief, read post #1 by R I C H in this thread:
If it is possible to have even the slightest lingering doubt about Kamloops after that, go back to Airseir and read this:
It may sound as if I'm being sarcastic about Kamloops, but I am not. R I C H and Airseir have done a lot to raise my appreciation of Kamloops's possibilities. I used to think of it as a place that you could use as an overnight stop on the way from Calgary to Vancouver, but I've come to see it through different eyes since they've reported their experiences of living there.
EDIT: Oops, Rich_007 beat me to it, but my link to R I C H's thread is still relevant.

We stayed in Kamloops for a couple of days on our way to Vancouver. We thought it was nice enough, but wouldn't want to live there. There was nothing wrong with the place, and people were friendly but it wasn't for us. The main reason is that we prefer Calgary as it's a big city with more job opportunities etc.

Certification by various private and quango-type bodies as well as by unions is rigidly controlled in Canada and more so in BC than probabaly anywhere else on the planet ! Thus, research and early investigation of regulatory bodies, professional associations, certificators etc is strongly advised.
Good luck,
Rich.

Hi Rich, my profession is working on underground electricity cables and the wife is in HR. We've looked into my certification and i'd have to sit a 4th year apprentice exam to get my red seal.To be honest i fancy a life change and would like to go into something 'outdoorsie'...fishing guide,trail/hiking guide ect although i realize there would be training required for this aswell, have experiance in this but no qualifications.
