Just recieved our Visas yesterday!!!!!!!!!

Default Just recieved our Visas yesterday!!!!!!!!!
Well this is our first post. We were very excited yesterday when we received our visas and nearly ripped the landing papers in our effort to get the envelope open!! Now the countdown is on. We are hoping to go to Nova Scotia, we have done all our research and now the search for employment is our next aim.

Any advice and useful tips are very welcome.

All in all to get to this stage it has taken us 3years and 3 months. We never used any agency or consultants, just lots of paperwork!!!

If Canada House has your passports then it should only take a maximum of 14 days to get them back. We managed to get ours back in 10 days.

As far as work goes I'm willing to do anything. I was a headgreenkeeper on a golf course for 14yrs and now I work in a steel mill driving a crane, so have to see what i can get out there.

Congratulations! It's a long wait but it's worth it just for that 'moment'. Ours took 32 months from start to finish - looking back the paperwork wasn't that bad afterall!! Good luck with the job hunting we are looking too.

Wow, thats not too bad! We applied Oct 2007 and they said our wait would be 42-48 months as you can see below!

I hope it's around the same time you waited.

Anyway good luck to you. When are you off and where are you settling?

Amazing that you've only just found this forum now! Good luck with the next stage.

Will you land and settle then find jobs? Do you have kids to settle into schools? Why Nova Scotia? Have you been there before? Do you have family there? Do you have a house to sell here?

So many questions....the answers of some which will affect your departure date. Good luck......this forum is a great source of info and support.
