We made it
We landed at calgary on Sun and met a nice man at immigration who explained how to extend our WP etc, and welcome.
We then drove to Edmonton and tried to stay up as long as poss before collapsing in bed.
Mon and Tues were spent getting the docs we need, SIN etc. The actual process didn't take long but the queues to be seen were over an hour in each dept. I think the world and his wife are here
We went to a local festival last night and are all shattered today.
But we must now search for that illusive rental property. The place i am working for have provided a hotel suite for upto 45 days so that makes it a little easier.
Must do what the Brits are best at and talk about the heat over here
we have had one torrential thunder storm but nothing like at home.
We are off to find a house or we will be in tent city

Congrats
and happy house hunting now
oh, and isn't it warm?

although, if you are still stuck after 45 days, tent city might be getting a tad chillier by then
Good luck

welcome, i've been looking at rentals for nearly a month, start your search early as most places in and around the city are now not renting until spet 1st. i have seen a few appartments in st. albert, 2 bed around $1200 per mth, and houses also, single family(3-4bed detached) $1900 per mth, both with 1mth down as security deposit.

Housing marked in the city seems to be slowing down a little, so hopefully that will help the rental market too.

Congrats, whilst your looking for property find a lodger or 2 at Tent city to help cover the cost of the super large house. Could even rent out a nice patch in the yard.
