Hi,
I arrived in Calgary seven weeks ago. It has certainly been a roller-coaster ride. In the last week we have both been offered permanent jobs
and had a mortgage approval accepted today
.
We currently haven't got around to buying a car, as we are renting fairly centrally (Kensington), we are hoping to get around to this over the next ten days. Anyway to have a fun weekend we bought some roller blades.
Well I must say that I am a complete chicken sh-t when it comes to this kind of thing, however my husband seems to be an expert already
.
I would like to apologise to any drivers along memorial drive this evening if they were delayed by me crossing the road. I must add it has been years since I put on blades. But I did have a lot of fun

Are you gonna get some ice skates for the winter??? Apart from all the arenas there is free public outdoors skating down at the lake at Bowness Park which is great fun
Canadian Tire have a big selection (once the season is upon us) and really not expensive!

That made me chuckle!! I like it!! Was he really any good? There's a sketch in The Fast Show with a dad who is the expert in everything he does with his family. In one scene Dad is playing cricket with Toby-the son- and bats the ball miles each time for the son to retrieve it, constantly shouting to poor Toby to hurry. It reminded me of that!!

Congrats on everything going good for you. We got bikes straight off and hit the trails, not got as far as blades but we did get (all but his nibs) skates and found the ice last year, I was dissapointed when it all melted.......Oh well more of the same this year!
