Hi Guys,
I have been working my butt off trying to get a handle on the job market over in Canada but without much success! I have looked at loads of job sites, applied for jobs and posted resumes without a twitter of response; it is reminding me of the job sites in the UK. I have had some very good advice from this forum about engineering in Calgary but everything seems so hard especially as jobs seem to be spread onto every single website.
I have an electro-mechanical engineering background as a toolmaker and production mangager, more recently it has been IT based as an MCSE, CCNA qualified systems engineer and an entrepeneur with my own business at www.recyclemypc.co.uk. I am fed up with the UK, it cost me £1000:00 in car repairs this week alone and my kids come home every day with new horror stories about what happened on the school bus!
I want to give my best to an employer but I need to find one first and use a site where the application server doesn't keep falling over!!
35 degrees in Regina but not humid, bliss and I want it but flexible on location.
Any advice, tips or pointers would be appreciated.
Have a good weekend.

You can take a look here.
http://www.sasknetwork.gov.sk.ca/
There are links to government jobs. They probably pay pretty well - this is a government town and usually the best jobs are government ones.
Try this
http://www.gov.sk.ca/service/jobs/
Why don't you come here and start your own business - same as you are doing now in the UK?

I would possibly try looking at the local apeprs online...go to the job section, and try faxing the company your Resume...seems a bit old fashioned, but you may get a little further with some responses.
Good luck.
Local apers for Calgary are the Calgary Herald, and the Calgary sun.

I did a search on www.411.ca I typed in the sector i was looking for and the location and did a mass mailing might take you some time to find them and if your emailing the email but it could be worth it, you could be the candidate you are looking for.
I have to say though that job hunting while in England was fruitless for me, and ive heard other people say it, maybe call some of these companies and say that you are comming on an exploratory visit and would they be prepared to meet with you. if you get enough YES then book yourself on a flight. even if a job offer doesnt come of it, they will remember you for future postings or when you get here permanently.
Ive found in Toronto anyways that its not what you know its who you know and how you schmooze.
Good Luck in your search
