Default Job Op's for OH

As i will be moving on my own for the first 6 months ..Just wondered if there
was any call for shop workers ....My wife has and still works for Tesco and has done for the last ten years ...Just hoping it will be easy for her to make the transition and find a job in Regina ......i.e Walmart, Loblaws, etc.
Any Advice Greatfully accepted

Iirc, you're a truck driver? Which province are you heading to? As in all but Alberta or BC, she wouldn't be able to work without needing her own job offer/LMO/TWP - and it could be tricky getting a LMO for a shop worker tbh.

But if you're going to Alberta/BC then she's in luck as she'd get an open work permit, they currently have pilot programs allowing it - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/occupations.asp

Doh, sorry, just re-read your first post and realised you said in it that you're going to Regina! Clearly more coffee needed.

So she won't be eligible for a spousal open work permit which is a shame, and will need to get her own LMO/TWP.

Good luck.

WalMart, Safeway, Loblaws groups not in the habit of applying for LMOs for foreign workers though so it might be hard for her to get one.

Agreed. Realistically, she's unlikey to be able to work until she gets PR, so needs to be happy with not being able to work for 18 months or so after arrival.
