Default Job Agencies

I'm presuming there are temp and job agencies in Canada as there are in the UK (like Jobwise, Manpower, etc). Is it the same as here - ie. you sign up with one or two and they call you with jobs as and when?

It's just that I'm hearing varying success rates as far as getting work there goes, so signing up with an agency and letting them do the footwork for me would be ideal.
Has anybody there worked for one? What sort of pay do they offer, say for office admin/customer service type work as an average?

yes it is the same as in England, I work for a temping agency KELLY SERVICES and i have always got paid around the $12-$14 mark but i know that i have been lucky in getting this much as some of the people i know only get about $9-$10 per hour.
hope this helps.
