I hope you find work here, in Canada??? b/c its not that different from the UK...except there is so much snow and freezing temps...if you are looking for outdoor work, then it pretty much slows way down to nothing in the winter mths....unless you are a snowplough driver!

Ispwich looks like a pretty little place to raise kids. We have friends there in surrounding areas. So can't wait for the move.

My OH is losing his job, lay-off is in the immenent future... just a matter of time now..He is CND & worked there was 24.5 yrs now...so that doesn't say too much about the economy now does it.

good luck with what ever u decide

so you'll not want to think about the middle provinces then. alberta, sask, manitoba...they have extreme temps. -40 windchill...somedayz

southern parts of Ontario can get as cold as -22, but its been a fridgid Dec/Jan....most days below 0.

Have u travelled this way b4?

Can you PM about Kesgrave and surrounding areas of Ipswich? what areas should we stay away from? have u seen a drop in house prices new/used good/bad. cheers

They going to build europes largest indoor ski slope soon about five miles from Kesgrave so you wont miss Canada too much

Iv received a preliminary points eveluation from willis brazalot and i scored 62 points. But i left the finances section blank [Didn't fancy telling them how much i have stashed under my pillow] and also scored zero for no job lined up.
Is that an ok score anyone?

Points evaluation for what? If it's whether or not you've got enough points to qualify as a Skilled Worker then I'm confused as the amount of money you have is not relevant (and not something that is questioned in the 'official' points test).

Personally I'd avoid the W&B test and use the proper CIC one to get a definitive answer as to how many points you would get..............http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/immigra.../Education.asp

Hope it helps.

Part of what they sent me said that you must show you have enough funds to support your family upon arrival ($21.431) for a family of five. I wasn't sure if this scored toward the section "adaptability" of which i scored zero.

Ah, I see!! Thought it was just a clever way to try and see how much of your money they could take! In which case, they're quite right - you would have to have that amount as proof of funds.

Have you done the CIC test, did you score the same on that?

Yeah thanx for that . I scored 59. But filled it in again with employment secured and it was 74. Which from what i can make out would be enough
