If charged as a young offender (not an adult) then that wouldn't be taken into account however if filling out any application for CIC purposes and you are asked have you ever been arrested, charged or convicted of an offence then the answer will always be YES.

There are plenty of tax calculators you can use, start with the Wiki which links to several and will give you info on what deductions you can expect (it's not just tax, things like EI as well). This page is a good place to start - http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Income_Tax_Rates
Will you be needing to support a family on that salary?

yes not straight away ill come over and setup then my partner and 3 kids will come over is 4500 a month not a decent wage to live on over there?

It might be worth starting a new thread so that those in SK can comment and give their monthly outgoings etc. If it's before tax it sounds quite low to me for a family of five, but I've not lived in SK so don't know how your cost of living will compare. Is your partner planning on working?

no as wee have a new born, looks like i should clear about 3500 per month for rent ect. the company i work for have told me that if i am what my resume says they will up my wages to about 5900 a month which looks better. thanks for the help

If you have it in writing that the company will increase your wages, great, but if you don't then you can't count on it at all.
Best of luck.

i don't have it in writing, so i guess need to suck it and see. have started a new thread.
clearing 1900 here was fine for us. hopefully overtime will get the wages up to help start me off. I'm hoping to take ove 15-18k gbp but will need to purchase a car and pay deposits ect.
