Items I'm taking into Canada list:
Hi folks- another question! Sorry!
48 hours till we fly so just tying up a few odds and ends.
Now that all of our packing is complete I'm now writing up a list of everything that we are taking into the country on Wednesday and goods to follow.
We are coming in on a TWP so I'm aware I need to produce a list of everything that I already own that I'm bringing in to the country that will again be removed from the country when we leave- so I don't have to pay duty on the things I bring in.
I have been told as well as simply writing a list (and to have several copies) I also need to write the value of items?
This part I'm finding difficult as technically a lot of what we're bringing in isn't actually worth anything really! Do I put what it would cost to buy me new for example? Or do I simply write down what I THINK they're worth? I mean- If that's the case I feel like it's just a case of plucking a number out of the sky. Unless I'm talking about bringing hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of things into the country does it really matter what I put?
For example, the list is looking something like this:
Clothing
Footwear
Towels
Books
Kitchen crockery
Etc etc.
You get the idea- but what on earth do I put for value?
Thanks for your help!!

If you haven't found it already, there's a wiki article on Goods to Follow (and Goods Accompanying) that includes an example of previous ones, it'll help put your mind at ease.
