Default Ironing, drinking & having 1st wobble!

Having first wobble about all of this????

Chris is out for the second night, I'm all on my own, children asleep....

Not having wobble about moving to Canada, but the fact that I will be on my own, without Chris..... Is just sinking in.

I cannot say anything to Chris as I am Mrs Positive, all gung ho and ready to take on the new challenges......

Feel a bit stupid, ironing, drinking my nice wine and blubbing......

Having sat down here, typed this I will probably pull myself together and get positively ironing and a drinking........

Charlie

Note to self, stop being pathetic..........

I'm on my own with 2 kids right now (OH is in Japan at the minute) it's pretty hectic doing the single mum thing but you'll be amazed how you cope when you just have to get on with things. You'll be fine

You are not being pathetic at all - it is very very normal to have wobbles - we have all been there.

As one of my friends said to me - i would be a bit strange if i didn't get a bit nervous and wobbly about it - i was moving to a new country!

As for being without hubby - just take it day by day, and remember it is only for a short time. We moved over in December, and OH went away offshore yesterday down to the gulf of mexico for a few weeks. After having him at home for 3 months it is a bit of a wrench, particularly since I am in a strange country! So, how did I deal with it - bought a box set of sex and the city and sitting watching it with a large tube of pringles and laughing at my dogs who are being driven demented by the squirrels in the garden.

Seriously, just look forward to all the great times and the new life you are going to have when you get here - sometimes you have to go through the crap to appreciate the good.

PS - put down the ironing that doesn't help either (although the wine does). Bought an ironing board on my second week here, and only used it once!

I've pulled, I'll be fine, just silly rally. I think it was talking to my sister today, we were chatting about my dad's 75th b'day next month.

Mum, Dad, Sitier an Brother in law all live in France, moved July last year, we are all very close and talk every couple of days. I was worried when they moved, and they were worried when we decided to go to Canada and then all the plans got finalised very quickly!

Anyway, we visited for the first time at New Year which happened to coincide with parents 40th Wedding Anniversary, I was not expecting to go out until June, when my sister's first long awaited baby is due.

Having spoken to Abbie today we have decided that I am going to do a flying visit and arrived day before dad's b'day and fly back the day after his b'day. I was not expecting to do this, but, as the time got closer I want to be around for the important dates.... At least the ones that I can make for now, once in Canada, I won't be able to do this.

So, it will cost £100 for 48 hours with my dad on/around his 75th, as the advert says priceless..........

You're not silly especially when it's something you're not used to. My OH goes away all the time sometimes for a few days sometimes a few months. I always find the first day that my OH goes on tour is the worst I usually don't sleep well the first night (and he's been doing this since we met over 10 years ago) but after that I just get into the swing of things and then he comes home and ruins my routine and I want rid of him again. Hopefully in your case this is just a one off not a way of life.

That sounds so familiar - just get into the swing of them being away and they come home - usually jetlagged and grumpy and muck up your routine!

(still cry every time he goes away, and we've been together 13 years!)

That's so sweet

My OH gets back from Japan on the 15 of March he's home for a week and then off to Australia for 2 weeks he's going to be a basket case.

I hate it when it is really bitty like that, you never seem to get into a routine. Never mind - lots of scope for nice pressies for you!

We came to Canada last September, we've been married 33 years and my OH is on the long haul truck drivers program. He is away 10 days at a time all over Canada and the US, I haven't got a work permit so spend a lot of time on my owne. My mother who is 80 on the 30th, children and grandchildren are in Wales. You will cope, you've got this far and you are strong enough to go the extra mile.

My recommendations - put the ironing away and drink the wine Ironing makes me depresssed. Mal always says if I am in a bad mood when I start ironing, I could commit murders after the first hour
