i haven't tested it yet but I understand that Nintendo DS games will work but Wii games wont. I plan to buy the cheapest Wii game around and try it out for myself.

Just wondering if PS3 games that are bought over there will work or not cos if not, perhaps no point in bringing Irish console. Same with Xbox, cos once my son completes the levels he just throws the games aside so might be better in long run to buy new consoles, just a thought. Thx for the info. tho'. Take care, Linda.

hi,
One last question.....(if you don't mind). Will the Canadian games work in the Irish consoles? Somewhere i thought I read that they wouldn't. Thx in advance.

No, but you can get the Wii 'chipped'.

thanks for that Londonnuck, how can you get it chipped? Who would do that? Can you do same with Xbox and PS3? Sorry for all the questions but if it saves me money its worth asking. Thx again.

Ridiculous... they accept Scotland Wales and GB ... why not NI when we are allowed to swap they are interchangeable back home

Hi if you look these guys up they have lots of stuff on for the irish in calgary http://www.calgaryics.org/ they are in the nw of the city so depends where you live. There is also a GAA club the chieftans, though they only play football, so for those of us from kilkenny we have to watch the matches from home. We are in Okotoks, there is a small few irish here and we have been known to break out the hurls on a sunday afternoon in the local park, much to the chagrin of the locals.

If you need any help or advice dont hesitate to pm me. Good luck OP with your move i will miss your witty posts on the ireland section.
