Post iPlayer in Canada

Not the real thing, but the globalised version with tons of archive material from the Beeb. Rolled out in Canada today.

Is it just for the iPad, or will it function on my Macbook Pro?

But like me, he [Novo] has a Mac and as far as I can see expatshield doesn't work for that platform.

It's also adware - I'm not gonna install it.

And what's the point of iplayer on an ipad ffs. I want it my ****ing telly - which means iplayer on a proper computer (I don't care if it's a mac or pc).

So get the VGA cable and use the iPads built in TV out functionality to output it to the TV.

Additionally it'll be available soon on the Xbox and PS3.

And you have to pay for it too alongside a VPN (if like me you're sick of ExpatShield).
Better ways of watching UK Telly for free on the iPad...

Not sure I follow. I can get iplayer now with a VPN.

I know ipads are all the rage, but I don't own one and I don't want to shell out cash on something just so I can trail a VGA cable across the room - which imo is a shit solution anyway.

Come on BBC - sort it out. People don't want to watch your stuff on tablets, they want it on big screens.

Centrino78 is an unknown quantity at this point

If you purchased an Apple TV ($100 I think) you can easily add iPlayer to it and I am sure the global one will be done too in the next few days. Then you can use a hdmi cable to your TV from the Apple TV. I watch all CTV news and channels this way back in the UK.
