Default Interview Details

I got a letter from Buffalo Canadian consulate that my interview will be scheduled at Seattle in the coming months and I be prepared for the same.

Can anybody tell from their previous experience, what would be probable interview date.

Another thing - is it that just I have to appear for the interview or I need to take along my spouse and kids as well.

Also if people can post their interview experience, documents required, or any web site giving the information - that would help.

Thanks

You can expect the interview call letter in about 7 to 10 months. Also, you will be notified about the interview date at least 2 months in advance.

Where are you now located, in US itself? If not (I believe you are in India?) you will need to make travel arrangements to US by procuring a US visa. The list of persons who are required to attend the interview will also be clearly stated in the interview call letter. Sometimes, they will call only the principal applicant, while sometimes they may call the dependants too. There won't be any requirement to take kids (unless they are above 19 years, I believe).

At the intervew, you can expect the questions mainly from your job and academic/educational qualifications. If you could tell me under what category you filed, may be I can help you more. Take all documents in original during the interview. In the interview call letter you will be advised what all documents you are required to take for the interview. Interview will not last for more than 30 minutes, but be prepared well. It is your presentation that counts. You should be able to impress the visa officer - arrive in time, dress well, speak fluently, show enthusiasm, learn some facts about Canada, if possible learn some French. The course of the interview depends on your answers. Never blush, or create a feeling that you are producing any false or fake documents. Remember, it is like a job interview, but usually very friendly. It is not an interrogation. So, be cool and confident. Answer to what you are asked clearly without 'beating around the bush'. Be confident, pray to God, and definitely things will be alright.

- A well wisher.

Did you procure a US visitor visa for the interview or you gave the interview while you were in status in US?
