Default Interview date

Given the timeline below. Is my interview possibly before March 31,2003?

Initial assesment letter - May 16, 2002
(interview required, medical forms
file will be transfered to Los Angeles)

Letter requesting additional information - May 16, 2002
and documents for background check

Buffalo Consulate received the additional - June 20, 2002
information and documents for the
background check

Received letter that my file was transfered to - July 16, 2002
LA consulate

Thanks in advance.

Interview cue in LA lately is about 8 to 12 months long, so there is still a
possibility for interview prior to 3/31/03, but rather slim one.

I have been told by some consultants that the interview wait between notification and
actual interview for London is currently 3-4 months. Is there any truth in that with
your experience? Thanks.

It is not true - wait time for the interview in London from receipt of pink card is
anywhere between 12 and 17 months. But interview invitations are mailed about 2 to 3
months in advance of scheduled date, so maybe some consultants referred to such as a
"notification".

Andrew thanks muchly for the reply as I'll now know when to completely give up on
this. I was actually referring to the interview invitation which we have now been
waiting for 12 months for. What I still don't understand is why the CHC is going to
continue to schedule interviews for people who will get rejected under the new
regulations. As you've said many times, there are so many people waiting that
'officer discretion' is just not going to happen(well not until the backlog clears).
I would have thought that now they are currently re-reviewing the files to reject
anyone who they know won't be interviewed by 31-3 to clear some of the paperwork.
Have you heard anything on this??

Once interview was required then nobody will go back to the case to re-assess it and
see if applicant has any chance under new selection criteria - processing officers
have to concentrate on assessing applications as they come, not to revisit cases once
already initially assessed until the interview comes. I didn't hear anything about
re-assessing for reasons you suggest and I don't think that it would happen - such
would only create additional delays in processing all cases.
