Default internet radio

I felt it my duty to urge prospective immigrants to Canada to purchase this or a similar product. It is the "acoustic energy wi-fi radio" and it will save you from the mind numbing benign soul destroying middle of the road , dad-rock playing that typifies Canadian radio ( well Western Canadian radio at least). This nifty gizmo will allow you to listen to virtually any internet radio station providing you have a wi-fi network. I am sure there are other similar products which are worth investigating but a friend pointed this one out to me as he had purchased it before moving to the Okanagan (home of Silk FM or Phil Collins FM as it should be known).
Here is the link, please note that you CANNOT yet buy this in Canada.

We had tried rocket FM which connected to our USB port and transmitted the internet radio stations via a frequency that you could pre-determine and thus listen to your internet radio via your regular radio but we have found too much interference mucks up the signal - damn silk FM again!
Anyhow give the link a look , might be something to save you from listening to endless loops of "you can't hurry love" and "I can't sing, I can't dance" (well Phil I have to admire your honesty)

If I can chuck in my two cents' worth, we bought a very similar product.

It has been absolutely brilliant. It runs on DC so we can take it with us to Montreal too (I think). The list of radio stations that it connects to is growing all the time and if there is a radio station that is on the internet that it doesn't know about you can inform the website and they'll add it for you.

For prospective immigrants wanting a simple way to attempt to immerse themselves in the (radio) culture of an area without actually living there, I can think of no better way than buying this product.

All I need now is some way of not losing concentration in the 1st intermission of every hockey game I ever listen to!!!
