It seems to me that it is one of the biggest factors in people's reasons for returning to their country of origin. It is always sad when people immigrate and then find that life is not what they expected and they have to go "home".
I suppose that I was very fortunate in that I didn't experience any of these trials when I arrived here and, even though I have been back to the UK many times, I have never, ever wanted to go back to live there.

Well, we did think about it, but you get so wrapped up in looking forward to your new life that you don't really think about it? (I know that totally doesn't make sence, but I can't explain it) :D

Before you emigrate you always think you'll fly back every year or as often as you can to see everyone, and people always say they'll come and visit, but things don't always work out like that.
Last year we got into a huge amount of debt and so we could only afford to send my eldest back. I have been back once, 2 years ago and my OH has been back twice (once on business and once when his dad got diagnosed with cancer). My youngest went back on this occasion too.
None of us are going back this year which is a real heartbreak.
So, we are all hoping to go back together for a week next year and combine it with a week in Italy to see my brother get married :D
