Is there an IT Industry in New Brunswick? i'm struggling to get any info on what ventures might be good in NB. I'm currently working in the IT indsutry here in UK. Looking for a relaxed and less stressful life in CA (most likely NB or Montreal) and i'm wondering if IT is a requirement in NB or not..
anyone here from NB?

I'm no expert but it's always been my impression that it's a lot better than people think. Not as many opportunities as big cities but then far fewer candidates for the jobs.
I just did a search for IT vacancies on careerbeacon and there were 674 advertised for Canada, 154 of them in NB.
That's more than a fifth in little old NB.
Mind you, there's only 18 for Ontario. Maybe Ontario IT jobs are advertised elsewhere. Or maybe Ontario is lousy for IT. Or people don't leave and create vacancies.
Likely lower salaries in NB,but probably more than made up for by much lower property prices.

Hi Atlantic Xpat,
Thanks for your feedback, we ve actually already moved on in the process and we are at federal level of application. However I still have loads of questions about the it job opportunities in the nb province. I am contacting various companies but I am getting very very few or no replies at all.
I have read several times from different sources that most job opportunities in canada are obtained through networking rather than through official public postings. This might be true, but still I find it worrying that I have absolutely no reply , even if it is a "thanks but no thanks" kind of reply.

Thanks for the feedback. My wife who is french has already made some contacts with the french immigrants community established in Moncton and they confirmed the phone is indeed used a lot more than emails when it comes to job hunting. Since we will be there on the 16th February I will wait a bit but will definately give it a shot!!
