Default Immigrants to change....and rightly so !!!

THIS IS EXCELLENT!

Will we still be the Country of choice and still be Canada if we
continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in Canada because it is the Country of Choice????

Think about it ... All I have to say is, when will they do something
about MY RIGHTS?

I celebrate Christmas, but because it isn't celebrated by everyone, we
can no longer say Merry Christmas, now it has to be Season's Greetings. It's
not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how
this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday?

We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend
anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that .

This says it all! This is an editorial written by a Canadian citizen,
published in a Canadian newspaper. He did quite a job; didn't he?

Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS, NOT CANADIANS, MUST ADAPT

I'm tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some
individual or their culture. I'm not against immigration, nor do I hold a
grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Canada.
Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants.
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our
country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of Canada being a multicultural community has served only to
dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Canadians, we have our
own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This
culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and
victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak
ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

We are, in the main, Christians, not Buddhists, Muslims or Islamics because
Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and
this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on
the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider
another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our
culture.

If the Maple Leaf offends you, then you should seriously consider a move to
another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no
desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you
came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our government
gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you
every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining and
griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life,
I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Canadian
freedom,THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

Probably something along the same lines should have been adopted in the UK.

I can't believe that museums in the UK are going to stop using BC 'before christ' as a dateline! The new saying will be BP before present??!

Yeah I read that, Mike Myers is a funny guy. I didnt know he was doing journalistic satire now.
I think ideas like this have been advocated in the UK,, go to BritishMovement.com.
If the article was not so daft I may have been offended, I guess the 6% or whatever the figure is of First Nations were conveniently brushed under carpet?

I have a black freind from Trinidad and hes forever bringing up the race card and I tell him that as a white person I am discrimiated against every day.
Have you ever seen the kids at the subway station giving away free literature on black history month? if i was to stand beside the handing out free white history month panthlets id be arrested and slaughtered as a racist.
Also remember back in 2004 i think, Jac cherac the french president said that Muslims couldnt wear there head scarves there was up roar, but i thought good for you. If i was to walk around iraq in a bikini id be hung for sure. so what these ppl are saying is when your in our country respect our rules, but when were in yours we wont respect yours well just bring ours with us and you have to all respect it.
Im not racist I just believe that firstly equality should rain and secondly whats good is one is good for the other. finally if you are not preparted to embrace a country for its culture then dont come!
Thanks for posting that article it was truly refreshing.

Ok let me put it another way, I didnt come here, only drink english beer in british Pubs, I dont eat only british meals and stick to what I knew as the norm back in Blighty, I dont socialise only with British poeple. and I dont ever read a british newspaper.

I have become far more multicultural, I enjoy a huge steak, I love watching Hockey, I say Eh at the end of every sentence LOL.

What im saying is that i wasnt close minded to new things and traditions in Canada.

She's not the only one. I had a Canadian girl working for me in London. She used to get regular care packages from back home containing KD, soap, shampoo, odd looking bits of candy, Coffee Crisps, you name it.

Soap and shampoo? WTF?

OK, I can understand the Coffee Crisp.

That's nothing!

When my brother returned to the UK after a visit in October, he went armed with tins of Tim Hortons coffee and hot chocolate, plus a china mug and bowl (both nicked). He also had a T-shirt ("give me my Timmy's and nobody gets hurt").

Worst of all, he took photos of our local Tim Hortons. I stayed in the car.

LOL ok you win on that score! LOL

My freind tried to open a franchise of Timmies in the Uk but when she approached Timmies they said they were not interested in going into the UK. this surprised me, theres no where in England where you can just go and get a cup of coffee apart from all these artsy fartsy places which cost an hours wage for a coffee. or Mcdonalds and quite frankly you may as well be drinking yaks pee!
