We are planning our first entry (IM1000) in Canada in mid Nov. – Calgary.
Due to some reasons we just want to make it a short period of stay and intend to settle at a later date. We are doing our first entry now, as our IM 1000 requires that we land before the third week of Nov 2001.
We have some questions and request some help on these.
1. How long can we stay out of Canada after our first entry without jeopardizing our PR status?
2. What are the documents that we need to apply for: SIN, health card, etc.
3. How long does it take to get these documents?
4. Do we need to give a permanent address to get these documents? Can we give our friends’ address, as we won’t be having a permanent address till we return and settle?
5. What is situation for Asians post 11th Sept?
