Well, I'm finally here arrived safe and sound in NS, currently staying with my best friend in Westville. Been up for hours, possibly going to my bed soon.
Everything went very smoothly arrived to a snowy Halifax at 2pm today
Flight was on time, got to customs and told them I was receiving a work permit was directed to the other desk and the guy typed a few things on the computer and stapled a work permit into my passport I have it until November 2010. Nothing else was asked for at all all my paperwork that I carried with me to show them stayed securely in my bag and wasn't not even asked for.
That was it nothing else, got my bags and was picked up by my friend and here I am safe and sound and looking forward to it all. Tired but nothing could have went more smoothly, considering the hassle I had getting the work permit in the first place.
Talk to you all soon....x

How did you get a 2 year work permit? Thought they only were given out for 1 year?

They are given out for various amount of years - 1, 2 or 3.
Our permits were issued for 3 years. However, Mr Y-C-D's passport expired 18 months later so although he was the principle applicant his work permit expired the same time as his passport.
We were made PRs 9 months later so it didn't matter anyway.

Wow well done, and i hop eit is what you dreamed of.
Is it normal for a TWP to be for 2 years, and what are the reasons for customs giving you less / more??
Kind regards
Dan
