Default Which IELTS Academic or General Training

There are two type of IELTS tests Academic and General Training ,which one is requied for Canadian immigration.Also any
suggestions regarding training material/nature of test.

General skills level is sufficient. As for the nature of test, the handbook and
practice tests - everything is online on IELTS main website here:

Hi,

I think it would be the General Training. I think the academic section is used
usually an an English requirement for University.

It's somewhere written on the IELTS homepage...but I can't seem to find the link...

I was told by local IELTS authorities that it would be very difficult to get 7 points with the General and was advised to take the Academic.

In other words it's easier to get 7 points in the Academic version.

Doesn't sound logical, but ...

Shouldn't be that difficult, I suppose.

What makes it difficult to score high in each part of the test is the fact that very little time is given. Consequently you've got to read, write, listen and speak very quickly if you want high scores (7 or above).
