I've been wanting to emigrate to Canada for years, but for work and personal reasons it seemed impossible.
Then yesterday I logged onto this website for the first time in a few months, and discover THE LIST! Here I find I fit beautifully into NOC 4131, College and Vocational Instructors
Now I'm just wondering what the jobs situation looks like, because I have 2 options:
(a) I spent 5 years teaching in music schools, so I could go back to teaching music, but I'd rather not if I can help it.
(b) I spent 2 years teaching English in a language school, and afterwards I spent 3 years as Head of English at the International Business School in Freiburg, Germany, where I taught English, Business Administration, German-English Translation, Academic Writing and similar subjects to managers, multilingual secretaries and Bachelor's degree students, as well as being an examiner for the London Chamber of Commerce's English examinations. I also had an advanced Business English textbook published, which is now on the official reading list of various universities in Russia and the Ukraine.
I'm just wondering what the job situation is actually like in these fields. Also, does it matter that this experience is not recent? I've been working as a freelance translator for the last 9 years...
Would be gla dot hear people's opinions, because at the moment it seems too good to be true...

You may want to repost this in the immigration section and you will probably get more response.

Certainly under the previous system the work experience had to be in the last 10 years and that may still be the case with the list, but as I am going through the olde SAP process I have not checked the in's and outs of the new system.
