I have arrived
#1
Well it's 4am Vancouver time and I am very jet lagged but thanks to some kind Canadian not having a secure wireless network I have managed to get online for a quick update
I flew with Fly Globespan and I have to say they are definitely cheap and not very cheerful. All the cabin crew were Italians and very grumpy, food was scarce, and drinks were all extra, even water. But I arrived in one piece and after all the hassle I had a Gatwick due to the failed bombing at Glasgow (our plane stopped there to refuel) I am just glad to finally be out of all that mess.
Having said that, the immigration officer at Vancouver was the most miserable git I have ever spoken to in my life, talk about the 3rd degree...but they let me in so can't complain.
Currently I am staying at a friends house on his air bed and will be getting the greyhound bus to Kamloops tomorrow morning, it takes 5hrs
so hopefully I can get some kip a long the way.
Not really sure what is going on to be honest, too many major things have happened to us in the last few weeks that this moving to Canada thing now actually seems enjoyable and not the big headache I had expected.
My Wife and two children are still in the UK seeing out the last few weeks of School, they arrive late July when hopefully I should have sorted out things in Kamloops to make their arrival less daunting...watch this space.
I'm going to try and get back to sleep now, see you all later.

Glad you arrived safely after your stressful flight.
Have a safe journey to Kamloops - get some shut-eye if you can
Hope everything goes smoothly in the next few weeks.

Welcome, I hope Kamloops works out, I think your kids will love it.
Canada Customs are a pain, they can be rude, but they have secure Government jobs so they don't really care.
A lump of coal would never become a Diamond without a little pressure.

cocky git, he was only about 20.Yeah I think the kids will also love Kamloops, mountain biking, motocrossing (for me and my son) and horse back riding for my daughter in the summer and all the winter sports you can imagine once the white stuff falls.
I do love Vancouver and wouldn't mind living here but to be honest, it is just so damn expensive to buy a house.
I'm getting taken out for a Cuban breakfast, the way I am feeling right now anything will do as I am starving.
Cheers guys,

I guess they are just doing their job and he was probably still frustrated from the bloke before me who could not speak any English and was refused entry from Spain via Gatwick. The funny thing was he heard my accent and was asking me questions before he even looked at my passport, when I pulled out my Canadian passport you should have seen his face

Believe me, the UK is not immune from it's share of "delightful" customs officers!!! I took quite the grilling when arriving on my 2nd trip to the UK a couple years back. Welcome to BC, Danny.... we arranged some sunshine for your arrival

All the best!
Oggy
