Sounds like you have done the hard work already, just need to get your self in Canada.

Don't mean to sound rude, but have you actually been over there job hunting?
I know someone in IT and they went over recently (after a lot of phoning and research of suitable companies!) and just knocked on doors, telephoned and dropped CVs with them. He got 2 interviews while he was there. One of these has just resulted in a job offer which is going through LMO now.

Ye I spent 1 and half months over there trying different places but had no luck. This was mid recession so it was a bad time.

I am really surprised that someone found it so easy to get a position. What part of Canada where they looking at and what experience/qualifications do they have?

Their job is in Vancouver. They are in their early forties and have probably ten years experience in an IT setting. I believe the job is very similar to one they were doing here about 5 years ago, so they have relevant experience.
They have a degree in science but I am not sure what IT qualifications they have gained while in the business.

Helcat Yes i have been to Canada everyyear to see my parents since 1997 and I have looked for work in Van city before.

I have got job offers in the past two year but I had to come back to the UK due to personal issues which I dont have anymore so I am a free bird to fly over there and get hunting again!! I am very forunate to know so many people there and via that networking route jobs are found more successfully rather than dropping online CV's etc

I have around 7 year IT working Experience and also hold a IT business Degree with other IT certs to go with this..

I know it will be hard but there nothing left for me here so I must get out there and try what ever the cost!!! Life is too short and I need my family now and forever so I am going to jump on the plane and have a month off to relax and go around Vancouver and the hard work starts looking for work.

Thanks guy keep it coming and if anyone needs to meet up in Canada to hunt as a group then you welcome to stay at my home!!

I will be flying out on the 20th just can't wait now :)
