I've just been reading about it on the news and checked a couple of trackers.
Just a heads-up, it looks like it might hit eastern Canada, possibly on Monday, as a tropical storm or a category 1 hurricane.

I think it's going to move further west than they have originally anticipated...

It's a bit muggy and breezy here. There were a few periods of heavy rain but they went as quickly as they came.
I previously had this misconception that tropical storms produce continuous rain, high wind speeds and lightning. They don't (from what I've witnessed). For all the wind and rain they deliver there is an equal amount of calm and warmth. And rarely any flashes of lightning.
Hope everyone rests easy on this stormy night.

How are you east-coasters faring today?
Actually, have any of you got power to reply to us (laptops and iphones and wifi if working, notwithstanding)?

Though not quite east coast, in Montreal we woke up without power at home. Luckily its back on now.
We had contininous heavy rain for most of yesterday afternoon and well into the night. We also had high wind speeds at time which did alot of damage to trees, some buildings and put out quite a few traffic lights.
After this, I think I'm finally putting together a 72 hour kit. As this was no fun at all.

Very warm winds last night going to bed. A few trees and branches down in the neighbourhood today.
Power was out from about 4.00 am and was back at 12.20 pm.

stuck in Labrador at the moment, looks like the ferry didn't make it across due to gale warning, so I might end up here for another day at least...
