Hello, recently I have sent a small parcel(all bank related docs) through dpd from UK and because of my own mistake receipient needs to pay custom charge/tax. As my recepient is bank, they don’t pay any payment . I have contacted with dpd but no joy. Is there anyone face similar problem. How can I pay tax/vat/customs from UK. Thanks in advance

I am somewhat confused so let me see if I have this correct.
You sent a package from the UK to a bank in Canada containing documents. The bank is now being asked to pay a Customs charge.
1. If only containing documents and these documents were not purchased, acquired or received by a Canadian resident from outside of Canada then I am wondering why there would be any Customs charges?
2. What was the description of the goods on the package and what value was assigned on the declaration?
3. Are you sure its a bill issued issued by or on behalf of Canada Border Services Agency as opposed to a fee being issued by just DPD which isn't related to Canadian duties and GST/HST?

Are you the recipient of the package ie does it have your name on it as the recipient? The only way you could pay for it is by arranging with the bank to supply the delivery company with your credit card details and ensure that the credit card allows foreign transactions as in Canada we deal in Canadian dollars and not that foreign money be it the pound or euro. Call the bank.
